Meditation Monday: Which Iceberg Are You?

In church yesterday my pastor gave an illustration of two icebergs, a small one and a large one. Both of thes icebergs are in the same ocean but they are moving in different directions. How can this be?

The small iceberg was moving in the direction of the winds but the large iceberg is down deep in the ocean that it moves with the ocean current. Which iceberg are you?

Are you the small iceberg “tossed to and fro by the waves” (Eph. 4:14)? In Ephesians 4 the wind which is causing the waves is false teachings, but it could be circumstances, hardships, pleasures and much more. Does your life resemble the small iceberg pushed around by life? Does your attitudes reflect your circumstances? Is the current and moods of life dependent on the ups and downs of life?

Are you the large iceberg, which is dug down deep and moves according to the flow of sovereign grace? A dug down deep life is life planted and the roots go deep into the Word and filled with the Spirit. Psalms gives us a picture of a life which moves to the current of sovereign grace;

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. – Psalm 1:1-2

So which iceberg are you?

Until Next Time

Soli Deo Gloria
