Spoken Word/Poem by Abigail Priscilla Aguilar

I am a proud Papa, going to brag on my daughter today. She noticed people talking in church, while the sermon was going on in youth group and Sunday services and she wrote this and spoke it yesterday at youth group.

Don’t grow dull to God’s Word
Don’t give up on the lessons that we’ve heard
Every trip that we go on
God is not done
He wants us to move on
Forward
From everlasting to everlasting and keep going to the great beyond
When we stumble and fall
He doesn’t want us to stop or stall
He wants us to recall His Word that He is our all in all
He wants us to know all our failures are lessons and all our seasons sessions

Don’t grow dull to God’s presence
Jesus came not only to live, die and rise again
So that we can go to heaven
But to live and move and be with Him and this is our present
This is a free gift God has sent us not to lose it or abuse it but to use it
So when we talk during service we spit on His act of love that He sent through His Son

What are we doing?
What are we losing?
When we chat with our neighbor we could be taking away the free gift of the Savior
You’re not only causing separation but depravation of our Lord God our Creator

When we die and go to judgement we cannot lie
When God asks us “why didn’t you live for me?”
What are you going to say that you never learned from me, that you never heard from me
And He will say “I put you in the right place at the right time so that you can live with me, follow me, know me throughout all eternity
Why didn’t you believe?
Why didn’t you move past your pride and break down at my side?
I laid down my life and died
I was crucified and all you can do is talk
How dare you mock me and take away the gift I gave freely”

But this not the end
We still have a chance to change and rearrange our stance
God’s presence is ALWAYS around us
If only we can believe and trust He promised to never leave us
So now when you sit through service
No more chatting or talking because you’re only mocking His Presence

New Identity Spoken Word/ Poem by Joshua Aguilar

Here we stand God in your presence again
Our heart so corrupted with this disease called sin
Our love for the world and our love for our sin
Overcomes the love that we have for Him
Why Lord have we failed again?

Satan the great deceiver, like a jedi, plays mind tricks on us
that put to shame Darth Vader
The pressures of the world make us feel like a failure
Our own sin nature, the flesh tells us to give up
because you can’t please the Great God and Savior

Our enemies surround us to claim victory
the world, the flesh and Satan our adversary
The enemies without and the enemy within
all cry out give up there is no victory over sin

I come here to tell you do not be deceived
through the death of one man His blood shed on a tree
Jesus the Christ he died for you and died for me
It is In Him we find the victory

Over 2000 years ago He shed his blood on the cross
The world and the devil celebrated
But to his followers it seemed to be a great loss
But 3 days later… 3days later!
The stone was rolled away
and out of the grave walked Jesus my Lord and Savior
and he showed the world the flesh and devil whose boss!

This is the good news of the Gospel and it brings eternal life

For those that don’t know him
Jesus is now drawing
His Spirit invades your life and makes you able to accept this calling
To accept this call just believe and receive him
and turn from your sin
you will be transferred from the kingdom of hell
into the kingdom of heaven
it is not by any work that u get in
solely by God’s grace are you born again

For those Christians who have received Him
and struggle with sin
The good news of the Gospel doesn’t stop
after you received the invitation
The power of the Gospel that transfers you
from the kingdom of hell to the kingdom of heaven
is the same power that sustains you till the end.

The problem I perceive
in this relationship between God and me
Is we lack the intimacy
Church pray and pick up the Word
And you will discover you are
In Christ
it is your New Identity.

You may think, “I don’t know where to start”
Turn your Bible to Ephesians ask
God to enlighten your heart
His Gracious blessings are rich and He freely imparts
Once you were filthy in your sin,
but now you are a saint made Holy in Him
Before the world began, He called you son, predestined for adoption
You are welcomed in the beloved
because you are redeemed by his blood
forgiven from all sin, no longer bankrupt
because I have an inheritance in him
let me tell you, this is who you are In Christ, this I guarantee
because you have been sealed by His Spirit for all eternity.
I tell you Ephesians isn’t done
Keep reading that was just chapter one!

Today as we celebrate Jesus’ Resurrection
If you call yourself Christian, do not dishonor him
by going back and living in that filthy pig pen of sin
Look through the eyes of your Heavenly Father
He has placed a New Identity on you he is the Author.
With this New Identity in Christ
and Resurrection power infused by His Spirit
Go out in the world and just live it!

Strange Place For A King Reloaded

Strange Place for a King

By Joshua Aguilar

I wrote this this past Christmas. Thought I would repost for our Easter season.

A king foretold is coming to our land
A baby born in Bethlehem,
He wasn’t born in a royal home,
But in a manger, not even His own
A Strange Place for a King

This King grew and at his appointed time
He spread His message of the kingdom throughout His land
He came to His own but they received Him not
So He reached out to those who would listen
He sat and ate with the outcast, prostitutes, sinners
He receives them and us for we were His mission
A Strange Place for a King

The time has come for His mission to come to completion
But it wasn’t in a castle or on a Throne His Just position
God and sinners reconciled was His perfect plan
He was nailed to the cross for the redemption of man
A Strange place for a King

2000 years later as we dwell on His birth,
His life, His death, His resurrection and Ascension from earth
This Jesus, this king, the Savior of man
To all who receive Him, in His kingdom they’ll stand
And in this sinner’s heart, His throne will reside
A Strange Place for my King

One day He will come and call us all home
And on that day with an ever grateful heart
I will kneel at His Throne.
